Community 2026

The communities around the work

Open knowledge and scientific cooperation across Venezuela, Switzerland and Latin America.

Creative Commons

My involvement with Creative Commons connects the Venezuelan and Swiss chapters with a wider international community. I co-founded the Venezuelan chapter and served on the Global Network Council Executive Committee for the 2021–2022 term. I am also a board member of Creative Commons Switzerland. I have presented at four CC Global Summits: Toronto in 2017 and 2018, and the virtual editions of 2020 and 2021.

These connections bring together people working on education, cultural resources, research and the practical conditions for sharing. My contribution has often centred on educational projects and the technical work that helps people participate.

Scientific networks

I am a member of the Executive Committee of Venezuela’s Red de Jóvenes Investigadores, RedJIV. ACFIMAN’s October 2026 announcement records the network’s incorporation as one of the academy’s programmes and names the expanded committee.

In LAA-HECAP, the Latin American association for high-energy, cosmology and astroparticle physics, I participate in the Communication and Community Engagement committees. They are different organisations, connected by the need to help researchers find one another, exchange information and take part in collective work.

What holds it together

A committee is one part of a community’s work. Courses, conversations, documentation and volunteer projects are where many of the connections become tangible.

My work in CoAfina, scientific education and open knowledge belongs to this larger network of people. Keeping those relationships active is a way to continue contributing across countries and across changes in my own professional life.
